What Ecclesia believes education is for.
Ecclesia College exists to equip Christ followers for more than the completion of a degree. Our mission, vision, educational outcomes, and foundational values describe the kind of learning, character, work, service, and leadership we seek to develop.
Mission gives Ecclesia its purpose. Vision gives that purpose direction.
Together, these statements define why Ecclesia exists and what the College seeks to see accomplished through the students and graduates it equips.
Our Mission
As an institution of biblical higher education, Ecclesia College equips Christ followers with godly character traits, academic competencies, and work skills to be effective leaders for the advancement of Christ’s Kingdom within our troubled world.
The mission connects four things Ecclesia believes belong together: biblical higher education, character, academic competence, and practical work—directed toward faithful leadership and service.
Our Vision
To see a world transformed through Christ-centered leaders who faithfully Know Truth, Practice Truth, and Share Truth to advance God’s Kingdom.
The vision turns the commitments of the mission into an action-oriented direction: students should increasingly know truth, live in accordance with truth, and communicate and apply truth through leadership and service.
Pursuing Truth / Transforming Lives
Know Truth. Practice Truth. Share Truth.
Ecclesia’s educational outcomes describe what we want students to develop through their college experience—not only what they should know, but how they should live, communicate, serve, and lead.
Know Truth
Develop a biblical worldview and learn to think carefully.
Practice Truth
Live with integrity and faithfully steward what God has entrusted to you.
Share Truth
Communicate clearly and lead through meaningful service.
The vision grows directly out of the mission.
Know Truth, Practice Truth, and Share Truth give concise language to commitments already contained within Ecclesia’s mission.
The convictions beneath the mission.
Ecclesia College holds that all truth is God’s truth and is biblically consistent. The College’s seven foundational values describe convictions that shape its approach to education, relationships, service, work, and Christian life.
Select each value below to see how it informs the Ecclesia approach.
01 Bible-based Education
What this means: Ecclesia approaches every field of study in light of Scripture. Students are encouraged to pursue truth carefully, think honestly, and allow a growing biblical frame of reference to shape how they understand what they learn.
02 Comprehensive Learning
What this means: Education involves more than classroom knowledge. Ecclesia connects academic challenge with character development, mentoring, practical work, community service, and Christian outreach so that learning reaches multiple areas of a student’s life.
03 Inclusion of the Whole Body of Christ
What this means: Ecclesia seeks unity among Christ followers around shared faith, foundational convictions, godly relationships, and participation in the life and mission of the Christian community.
04 Practical Norm for Life and Learning
What this means: Ecclesia asks students to evaluate life and learning through eternal rather than merely temporary priorities. Biblical truth is understood not as an abstract addition to life, but as a practical foundation for decisions, priorities, and conduct.
05 Missional Priority
What this means: Christ’s Great Commandment and Great Commission shape Ecclesia’s understanding of service and vocation. Students are prepared to bring excellence, integrity, and a ministry-minded perspective into professions, communities, churches, further study, and other areas of influence.
06 Lifelong Learning
What this means: Learning should continue beyond a course or degree. Ecclesia encourages curiosity, intellectual growth, and faithful stewardship of a person’s thought, time, abilities, resources, and responsibilities throughout life.
07 Community and Personal Wellness
What this means: Ecclesia values healthy interdependence rather than isolation. Strong relationships, forgiveness, personal responsibility, physical well-being, rest, and spiritual practices all contribute to a life prepared for faithful, sustainable service.
These convictions are meant to shape the student experience.
Mission and values matter most when they influence what students actually study, practice, experience, and become.
