Military Students

Plan your Military Tuition Assistance before you enroll.

Department of Defense Tuition Assistance can help eligible service members pay for approved courses. Your Military Service—not Ecclesia College—determines eligibility and approves funding. Start with your Educational Services Officer, military counselor, or Military Service education office.

Required before enrollment

Speak with your Military Service first.

Before enrolling at Ecclesia College, current service members should consult with their Educational Services Officer, military counselor, or Military Service education office about their education plan and applicable Tuition Assistance requirements.

If you intend to use Tuition Assistance, each course must be approved by your Military Service before the course begins. Ecclesia may preregister you to reserve a place while approval is pending, but preregistration is not completed enrollment. You cannot complete Enrollment Validation until the Financial Aid Director has verified and documented the required Tuition Assistance authorization.

Without prior Military Service approval, you may be personally responsible for the tuition charges.

Start with the basics

Understand what Tuition Assistance does.

Tuition Assistance is a Department of Defense education benefit administered by the individual Military Services. It is separate from Veterans Affairs education benefits and does not become available automatically because a student identifies as military-connected.

Eligibility

Your Military Service decides.

Eligibility, funding limits, required counseling, service obligations, and request deadlines are determined by your branch of service.

Course approval

Approval is course by course.

TA approval applies only to the specific course and class dates included in the approved request. It does not automatically renew for later courses or terms.

College process

Ecclesia verifies the authorization.

Financial Aid verifies and documents the approved authorization before the student completes Enrollment Validation for courses using TA.

Military Tuition Assistance process

Complete these steps in the right order.

Begin early. Admission, transcript evaluation, Military Service counseling, course selection, and TA authorization can each take time.

01

Review programs and costs

Explore Ecclesia’s academic programs, published charges, complete Cost of Attendance, and financial-aid information before making an enrollment decision.

02

Consult your Military Service

Speak with your Educational Services Officer, military counselor, or education office about your educational goal, eligibility, required counseling, and deadlines.

03

Apply to Ecclesia

Complete the application that fits your academic level and learning location. Identify your military affiliation and indicate whether you plan to use DoD Tuition Assistance.

04

Complete your academic records

Submit required official college and Military Service transcripts so Ecclesia can evaluate prior learning and develop the educational plan required for your program.

05

Request approval for each course

Use your Military Service’s process to request TA for the specific course and class dates. Approval must be received before the course begins.

06

Provide authorization and validate

Provide the approved TA authorization to Financial Aid. After it is verified and documented, you may complete Enrollment Validation.

Ecclesia’s process

Know who handles each part.

Military Service approval and Ecclesia’s institutional verification are related steps, but they are not the same decision.

Admissions

Identifies and connects

Admissions identifies current service members, provides the initial pre-enrollment guidance, and refers students planning to use TA to Financial Aid.

Financial Aid

Verifies and documents

The Financial Aid Director reviews the Military Service authorization and documents verification for the College.

Registrar’s Office

Controls Enrollment Validation

The Registrar’s Office ensures a student using TA cannot complete Enrollment Validation until the required authorization has been verified and documented.

Plan before committing

See the full cost without providing personal information.

Tuition Assistance may cover only part of your educational cost. Review Ecclesia’s published charges and complete Cost of Attendance before deciding how you will pay any remaining balance.

  • Published tuition and required fees
  • Housing and food charges when applicable
  • Estimated books, transportation, and personal expenses
  • Scholarships, grants, and other eligible financial aid
  • Any amount not covered by approved Tuition Assistance

Tuition Assistance questions

A few things to know before you begin.

Does Ecclesia determine whether I am eligible for Tuition Assistance?

No. Your Military Service determines your eligibility, required counseling, funding limits, deadlines, and whether a particular course is approved. Ecclesia verifies and documents the authorization issued by your Military Service.

Can I enroll before my Tuition Assistance is approved?

Ecclesia may preregister you to reserve a place in a course while approval is pending. Preregistration is not completed enrollment. If you plan to use TA, you cannot complete Enrollment Validation until Financial Aid has verified and documented the authorization.

Do I need a new authorization for every course?

Yes. Military Tuition Assistance is approved course by course for the specific course and class dates requested. It does not automatically renew for a later course or term.

What happens if I begin a course without prior approval?

If your Military Service has not approved TA before the course begins, you may be personally responsible for the tuition charges. Contact your Military Service education office and Ecclesia Financial Aid before the start date if approval is still pending.

Is Tuition Assistance the same as VA education benefits?

No. Department of Defense Tuition Assistance and Department of Veterans Affairs education benefits are separate programs with different eligibility and approval processes. Financial Aid can help connect you with the appropriate Ecclesia contact for your situation.

Can I use other financial aid with Tuition Assistance?

You may be considered for other forms of financial aid for which you qualify. How TA, VA education benefits, grants, scholarships, and loans interact depends on applicable program rules and your individual eligibility. Review your options with Financial Aid before accepting or borrowing funds.

Where can I find Ecclesia’s withdrawal, refund, transfer-credit, and readmission policies?

Review the Academic Catalog and Consumer Information page before enrolling. If military duties may interrupt your enrollment, contact the Registrar’s Office as soon as possible.

Ready for your next step?

Begin with your Military Service—and ask Ecclesia when you need help.

Confirm your education plan and Tuition Assistance requirements with your Educational Services Officer, military counselor, or Military Service education office. Admissions can help with applying, and Financial Aid can help with Ecclesia’s authorization-verification process.

Tuition Assistance eligibility and approval are determined by the applicable Military Service and remain subject to current federal and Service-specific requirements.
