Revival on Campus: Lives Transformed by Truth at Ecclesia College

God is Moving at Ecclesia College

God is doing something incredible at Ecclesia College. As we witness this revival across our campus, we are reminded of our mission: to enrich the lives of Christ followers. We aim to empower students to be effective leaders who will reach the world for Christ. We are seeing lives being changed. Students are stepping forward to accept the truth of Jesus. They are surrendering their hearts. They are embracing a life of service to God and others.

Pursuing Truth, Transforming Lives

Our college’s motto, Pursuing Truth | Transforming Lives, is more than just words. It is the heartbeat of everything we do. Here at Ecclesia, we create an environment where each student can explore who they are in Christ. We nurture their journey. Some students come to campus with an established faith. Others have yet to begin their relationship with Jesus. Our faculty and staff are passionate about sharing the Good News. They work to point students toward a deeper relationship with Christ in everything we do. This includes the classroom, conversations, playing fields, and weekly assemblies.

An Outpouring of God’s Grace

In recent months, we have experienced an outpouring of God’s grace among our students. It’s not just happening here. We’ve seen similar movements on other campuses across the country. This includes the revival at Asbury College in February 2023. On September 19, 2024, a Unite US gathering took place at the University of Arkansas with nearly 10,000 college students. Among them, 33 of our students attended. One of them was baptized that night. There is something unique about the way God is working at Ecclesia right now. We believe it is just the beginning.

Transformative Moments in Assemblies

Our assemblies have become a place of deep encounter with God. In late August, one of our speakers shared the gospel in an evening assembly. It was a moment of boldness and courage. One student stood alone to pray, giving his life to Jesus. Since then, the Spirit has continued to move. On October 9, 2024, during a powerful message from Chuck Sackman, eight students came forward, acknowledging God’s gift of salvation. The move of God is undeniable.

Baptisms and Next Steps

Baptism is an important step in the life of a believer. We encourage our students to connect with local churches to continue their spiritual journey. This year, we’ve witnessed numerous baptisms at Cross Church. This local partner church has been instrumental in supporting our students. In fact, October 13, 2024, five of our students were baptized at Cross Church’s Fayetteville campus. Then, November 3rd, 2024, during another Sunday service, two more students made the decision to be baptized. Another student decided to be baptized after seeing their example. And that’s not all. Some of our students have expressed a desire to be baptized in their home churches. This demonstrates the personal and transformative nature of what God is doing in their lives.

A Spiritual Awakening in Our Baseball Program

Our baseball team has been a major part of this spiritual awakening. Coach Griffin Smith shared his story with the team during the Road to Kansas City Challenge—a time designed for physical and mental growth. It also fosters team bonding. Coach Smith opened his heart. He inspired his players to ask questions about faith. Soon after, many of them decided to commit their lives to Christ. Since that moment, nearly ten players have been baptized. Weekly Bible studies have become a source of encouragement for the entire team. We are grateful for how God is using Coach Smith to lead these young men. We are excited to see what comes next.

A Campus-Wide Revival

Cross Church has created a video to show the impact of this movement. It features Coach Smith, who is a member of Cross Church, and the baseball program. This revival is spreading throughout our entire campus, reaching students across other parts of our community.

Connecting with the Local Church

At Ecclesia, we believe in the power of the local church, and we encourage our students to take the next step by connecting with the church body—to be baptized, to serve, and to grow in discipleship. As we guide our students in pursuing truth, they transform into individuals dedicated to service. Their lives are rooted in the love of God.
