ARKANSAS' WORK COLLEGE
Ecclesia is Arkansas' only work-learning college and is one of seven in the nation. The current job market in Arkansas, specifically in NW Arkansas, is highly competitive. This area is home to many major corporations such as Walmart, J.B. Hunt, and Tyson Foods, providing a wealth of opportunity for internships and learning experiences that are built right into your education at Ecclesia.
Work-learning makes a difference in your education by providing an opportunity to develop character, reduce tuition, and gain job experience.
DEVELOP CHARACTER
REDUCE TUITION
Work-learning significantly reduces the cost of tuition with tuition credit. This is awarded to all resident students (and the majority of non-residents). The money earned in the student work program throughout the semester is credited towards the student's tuition costs. Based on the fact that Ecclesia is a work college, we are proud to say that our students graduate with an average student-loan debt of less than $10,000. Compare that to the state average of over $26,000.
GAIN JOB EXPERIENCE
Work-learning helps you gain job experience! Employers are looking for people with experience, proven skill, interpersonal ability, and a good work ethic. As you gain these qualities, many juniors and seniors have an opportunity to work in a position related to their career choice, thus building their resume before they leave college. After graduation, your hands-on experience and learned skills will position you for a better job and greater influence in your chosen profession.SERVICE LEARNING
As part of the Work-Learning programs, students are required to complete 12 hours of Service-Learning each semester. Opportunities range from helping local church or other non-profit Christian organizations, to special projects traveling abroad to share the life and love of Christ. In every case, students are applying Christ's greatest commandment by loving Him and loving others.
